Husband needs no misses

Monday, 22nd Oct 2012

"I thought it was a definite penalty his hand was up above his head and I clearly saw it hit his arm.

Stephen Husband scores from the spot

Stephen Husband felt his Dunfermline team played really well in both halves of the game against Morton. Coming back from two goals down showed great character yet again. He said:-

"We had that belief from the Falkirk game so it was great to get back in the game at 2-2 and be able to push for a win. The lads are more than capable of scoring goals. Even at 2-0 down we do not let up, we will still fight."

Stephen certainly feels that it shouldn't become a habit to give teams a two goal start:-

"Our objective is to go a goal ahead, keep hold of that and then score goals. Unfortunately it is not like that, but as long as we show willingness to comeback is the main thing."

Dunfermline got back into the game in the 82nd minute when Stephen scored from the spot after a decision that aggrieved Morton:-

"I thought it was a definite penalty his hand was up above his head and I clearly saw it hit his arm. It was a good decision. After that I just thought 'don't miss, don't miss'. I used to be terrible at penalties but I have spent a bit of time just practicing. I was penalty taker when I was at Blackpool in the reserves and I got the confidence back to take them.

"That's us played everyone now. We have found out what people are about but every game is different. We need to work our way through, concentrating on ourselves and not let other results affect us."
