Geggan would murder play offs

"Opponents are sitting in against us and making it difficult for us.

Against Forfar Athletic Andy Geggan is hoping that Dunfermline can get the three points that could possibly clinch second place in League One. He is conscious that Saturday's opponents are another club that the Pars have found hard to beat. He said:-

"Forfar are another of our bogey teams. They will come and sit in and try and break on us. Hopefully we will be too much for them.  Every team we have played recently has needed the points and so they have upped their game against us. I think that we have been playing good football but in the last third we have not been taking our chances.

"Opponents are sitting in against us and making it difficult for us. That is frustrating but if we get a goal against a team early doors then we will crack on and be fine. Just now it is just not happening for us.

"At the start of the season we were flying but we need to get our confidence back up before the play offs."

Andy started in all four of the 2012-13 First Division play offs and so is well briefed in the pitfalls of the outcome of your season resting upon the two ties played home and away. He continued:-

"The play offs are going to be so much harder because the two teams are focussing on it and are not going to come and sit in against us. It might open the game up a wee bit for us but it is going to be difficult because any team can win in the play offs. Last year was just a nightmare and we just ran out of gas in the last game."

The Pars skipper who will turn 27 between the first two play off games, confessed that he hates play offs:-

"They are murder. It is totally different when you are the team trying to stay in the league. It is difficult for the team finishing second bottom on a downer for the season but we aim to finish second on a high."

ANDY GEGGAN

That is exactly what Alloa Athletic did last year and depending upon Cowdenbeath do in their remaining games the play off final could be a total reversal of last seasons. Whether its is Alloa or Cowdenbeath is immaterial right now:-

"Play off games are totally different, anything can happen in these games. We will play anybody but I would like to get our own back on Alloa.

"Everybody is talking about the Championship next season. It could be a better league than the Premiership. You can see that there will be good games for television as well. It is the place to be and we want Dunfermline back up there.

"First thing is the play offs though, then we can talk about being up there."
