Deep Sea World wears the badge

Sunday, 12th Oct 2014

Deep Sea World, Scotland’s national aquarium, is showing its backing for the community by getting involved with both local amateur and professional football.

As well as launching a new joint Deep Sea World T-shirt branded with the Dunfermline Athletic badge, which is on sale in the aquarium’s shop, the North Queensferry attraction has also agreed to sponsor Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts’ new team kit.

The aquarium, which is already part of the Pars’ ‘We’re in this Together’ campaign, unveiled the new joint T-shirt last week and hopes it will prove popular with visitors and fans alike.

Deep Sea World’s sales & booking co-ordinator, Allan Berturelli, said:-

“The T-shirts have been specially designed with the football club’s logo as well as the DSW logo, and were manufactured by Joma. They signify the ongoing partnership between Deep Sea World and Dunfermline Athletic and, most importantly, the work we are both doing to support the local community.”

DAFC Director, Ross McArthur was delighted with the partnership, he added:-

"This is another example of how a supportive local business and tourist attraction working successfully with Dunfermline Athletic as part of our "We're in this Together" campaign and we are pleased that Deep Sea World are marketing these attractive jointly branded T shirts as part of our ongoing working relationship."

The aquarium has also agreed to sponsor the Swifts’ new adult team kit.

“Football plays a huge role, at all levels, in the surrounding area and we’re delighted to be able to support and promote its many positive benefits,” said Allan.

Inverkeithing Hillfield Swifts FC were formed by chairman, Eddie Spence, in the summer of 1996 with more than 100 boys and girls attending the first ever training session at Hillfield playing fields in Inverkeithing. The club’s vision is to provide all the local boys and girls the opportunity to play football in a fun and safe environment.
