Jordan McMillan - "We are where we are through hard work and we will not let our standards slip in anyway because of the financies.

Jordan McMillan spoke to the press on Saturday clutching an ice pack against his left thigh claiming that it was a dead leg and nothing to worry about. He was disappointed that they could not erase the defeat at Livingston the previous Saturday with a win over Billy Reid's Hamilton:-

"You go for three points but will settle for one because in this league anybody can beat anybody else in this league."

Jordan had a two good chances to score in the second half but of course chances are fairly uncommon for anyone playing at right back:-

"We play with full backs pushing up and trying to get opportunities. I probably should have scored from one of them today but I just need to build on from that. We can't rely on strikers to do it all the time. I hit the second one quite hard but it wasn't on target."

Hamilton made it quite a contest but after a period where Partick, Dunfermline and Morton appeared to be superior to the rest, in recent weeks it looks like Livingston and Hamilton have got into a position where they can compete with anyone:-

"They have improved but you will see at the start of the season in any league you see teams break away and then others catch up. This league is no different to any other. We have done okay to be where we are right now and are just hoping to be up there challenging at the end of the season."

Off the field financial problems do prey on the players but all is forgotten once they get out on the park in competition.

"It is harder in training and in the house when family are talking to you. When you are talking to your wife about bills but when we get on the park we just need to get on with it.  We are where we are through hard work and we will not let our standards slip in anyway because of the finances. Everybody in Scottish football has money problems, we are no different but will not let it affect us.

"Money is not in the game in Scotland; it is just the way it is. In a game you are concentrating on getting the three points but on the training field you are looking at it differently because it is your work. It is not affecting us in any way but on match days you do not get time to think about it."

As Club Captain Jordan has a role to play to make sure that everyone sticks together:-

"We have anyway, there have not been any complaints from the boys and that is reflected on how we are doing in the league and out on the park. The gaffer has been great with us, he keeps us in the loop as well. He tells me and obviously I tell the boys.

"The gaffer is very upfront. He gets us all together and has a good meeting. That is the kind of guy he is, he is a stand up man, he says it as it is and the boys all appreciate that. There have been no hiccups towards it and you can see that by the way we play, we are all fighting and pulling the same way."

Jordan McMillan

Jordan revealed that the likes of Andy Kirk, Craig Dargo and Paul Gallacher have an important role since there is not much in football that they have not come up against:-

"You need a mix of experience and youth. It is not easy but at the end of the day were are paid to play football and we will do our all for the Club and I hope the fans appreciate that."
