The legendary Jock Stein, who led Dunfermline Athletic to lift the Scottish Cup for the first time in their history at Hampden Park in 1961, can be seen in this clip of archive footage from ‘The Golden Years’ DVD.
Kindly supported by 'Cooperative Funeralcare', the DVD is on sale in a stall in the Kingsgate Centre outside Debenhams until Xmas Eve, in the Dunfermline Athletic Supporters Club Shop at East End Park and NOW, for the first time, online at www.olddunfermline.com/shop.
Jock Stein can be seen alongside Directors of Dunfermline Athletic and other dignitaries introducing the goalkeeping hero from the team, Eddie Connachan, and Cammie Fraser from the balcony of the City Chambers.
Many thousands of people had lined the streets to see the victorious team parade the Scottish Cup through the streets of Dunfermline. The footage also shows these scenes of celebrations and the open topped bus carrying the players as it made its way through the crowds.
'The Golden Years' DVD is a re-edited version of the film originally compiled by John Hunter and Douglas Scott that was shown at the Carnegie Hall in Dunfermline in October 2015.
It also contains interviews with players such as Harry Melrose, Charlie Dickson and '61 Captain Ron Mailer, as well as footage of some of the famous European games the Pars were involved in during that great period in their history.
