Andy's new dawn
Tuesday, 13th Jan 2015Andy Barrowman couldn't get to East End Park fast enough after the deal was done for him to leave Morton and rejoin Dunfermline Athletic.
Andy confessed that he was up before his alarm on Tuesday morning and he was really pleased with his reception when he turned up at Pitreavie. His first interview was of course with the website.
"I can't wait to get started, I left in horrible circumstances but that is in the past. Thankfully I am back and you always have it in the back of your mind that you can hope to one day return. It has happened now and I am just delighted.
"I had a short term deal at Dundee after the administration kicked off here. I was at Livingston last year and obviously Morton this year.
"When John Potter got the job as manager I spoke to him briefly and we thought that there was maybe something that we could do in the summer. Then last week Dunfermline actually contacted Morton and asked of the possibility of doing it now.
"Thankfully Jim Duffy said that it could happen because there was a possibility that I could get involved in the coaching side of it as well. It was too good an opportunity for them to not let it happen. They recognised that it was a good opportunity for me and I made it clear that I wanted it to happen.
"It took a bit of time, there was a bit of to and fro negotiation wise. It got done late last night and that was it."
The 30-year-old, who scored six goals for the Cappielow outfit after signing in the summer, becomes John Potter's second signing of the transfer window. He has played against the Pars twice this season and he gave his assessment as an opponent:-
"I think it is very tight at the top. I know that we slipped to fifth on Saturday but that changes week to week. One result and the picture can look so different. Every team is going to drop points along the way; that is just the nature of this league.
"We need to make sure that we go on a wee run. We have got to believe that we can do that despite the points difference. Looking around the squad there are not many that you would take from the other teams that are above us over the ones that are in this dressing room. That is something that has to give you belief."
Barra is not fussed who scores the goals, they need to come for anywhere just as long as we get those three points.
"I am a striker and first and foremost I have to score goals but I think I bring other things. There are plenty of goalscorers in that dressing room. In my time here before Ryan Wallace and I had a good partnership, there is Moffat who has proved he can rip this division up. The goals are there but we all need to score goals not just the forwards.
"I am looking forward to it. We will get in about it straight away and there is a big game on Saturday that I will look forward to. It will be good to be back in a black and white jersey."

Andy is two years into a degree in Business Management but has scheduled in going for a coaching B Licence at the end of May.
First time around Andy Barrowman was signed from Ross County by Jim McIntyre in the summer of 2011 and played in the SPL campaign that saw them relegated after just one season.
He scored 20 goals in 52 appearances (41 starts plus 11 subs) during his first spell with the club before he was made redundant along with seven team-mates when the club plunged into administration in March 2013.
