Plagued with the bad luck of serious injuries that severely curtailed two seasons for him. A dislocated knee in November 2014 sidelined Ryan for three months and a double leg break sustained at Forfar in August 2015 meant he missed all but the last four matches of that season.
Ryan started out in his football career aged 8 at Rothes Juniors Boys Club. He joined Celtic as a 12 year old and was there for two seasons before coming to Dunfermline.
The son of former Pars defender Andy Williamson he rates his dad as his biggest influence. Ryan was born in Kirkcaldy and attended Auchmuty High School in Glenrothes. He ranks Stevie Paterson as his most important coach so far.
Ryan made his senior debut in August 2013 when he replaced Ross Millen in the league match at home to Arbroath. Debut first team start was against Brechin City in November. Ryan attended the Scotland U18 training camp in December 2013.
