RANGERS 3 DUNFERMLINE 3

The young U20s side were disappointed to take just one point from this match but that takes it to four points off Rangers this season.

This SPFL Development League match was played at the Rangers Training Centre on Wednesday afternoon. In the absence of Callum Smith (injured), Scott Lochhead (on loan at Clyde) and the U17s striker injured as well, Conner Duthie returned to the striker role that he joined the club to do.

The visitors started well and positively creating a couple of opportunities. Rangers came more into it 15 minutes into the game and scored a good goal. It came at the midpoint of the first half from a clever pass that put their man through one on one with Cammy Gill. 1-0

The Fifers managed to get an equaliser within seven minutes. Superb play out on the left by Brandon Luke saw him cut inside and cross for Robbie Crawford who laid it off for Lewis SPENCE to score from 12 yards out. 1-1red two goals

The match was finely balanced at that point but Rangers went ahead again nine minutes from half time. A piece of magic in their wide play allowed a shot to be slotted in from a tight angle. 2-1

Half time: Rangers 2 Dunfermline 1

The Pars resumed promisingly and scored two goals. The equaliser came from a free kick wide of the box that Stuart MORRISON managed to get on the end of. 2-2

Then nine minutes later, Ryan Williamson with one of his trademark runs up the right byeline set him up for a cut back that CRAWFORD tucked away to put the Pars ahead 3-2.

The visitors were completely in charge by now and could have scored more goals. Unfortunately Rangers took advantage of a mistake from Dunfermline, broke and their wide player cut in back to set up the equaliser. 3-3

John Potter`s side were still on top and defending well. Going forward they had two or three good opportunities but just couldn`t score. After a fairly even first half the Pars dominated the second, they were the better team and unlucky not to win.
